Rebel4055
If you go with a ebay one, you might as well rig a hamster wheel up as a alternator. Feed the hamster or your pet of choice some crack to get it moving faster. Quote Rest In Peace mother. Chris Hammer
Nobodies addressed the fact he is trying to run his amp at .5ohms??? OP wire the subs to 2ohms...lower your power output but at least it might stop going into protect...than you can still bump with the extra battery until you save up enough coin for a HO alt. go to the12volt subwoofer diagram online http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp put in 2 subwoofers with 2ohm DVC...it will hsow you how to wire to .5ohm 2ohm and 8ohm. Wire it to 2ohm for now. Edited June 18, 2012 by Chris Hammer Quote MY BUILD *****http://tinyurl.com/gmcbuild***** Vehicles 2005 GMC Canyon CB1000r - Currently where any future funds are going. RooTxBeeR
Ya dude, never run .5 ohm load unless you have a serious electrical system. Your on a stock system wired to a load that will make some strong electrical systems get put to serious work. Wire it to 2 ohms and I doubt you will see protect anymore. Also, when you see your lights dimming, turn it down, that means your voltage is dropped below 12V, which is bad. Akslowroller
I would be willing to bet if you wire your subs to 2 ohms and te amp is only seeing 1 your protect issues may go away. When your amp is cutting off have you ever touched it to see how warm it is?
