What I am struggling with today is dealing with (box rise/ ohm rise)...whatever you guys call it? as well as getting my net volume to match with port area per foot, and tuning frequency. I am about to receive two DC M1 lvl 4 12s with lvl 5 soft parts. The specs I received is that they will run nicely on 1500 rms each but the impedance of the subs are different than what I am used to (being 1 ohm, 2 ohm, 4 ohm)...these actually are providing a 1.4 ohm resistance per coil...so what do I do as far as an amp goes? get something 3000 RMS at 1 ohm?....or two separate amps?. I was told that they like 15-17 cu in port area per foot and like about 1.5 cu ft per sub....that is if I provide sufficient power to them...but what if I don't? ( say 1000 watts per sub)...how do I figure out the box rise? I will probably end up making the box to its preferred specs but I am just struggling entirely with torres. MY max dimensions are 20H x 39 W x 15D and am hoping to just make it double chambered instead of separating them. woofer displacement is .21 per sub and I am not sure what # of common walls i should use (does this mean how many edges of the box will I use for the port?) I really hate to ask people to design me boxes without compensation, but Ive struggled beyond the point of my knowledge and could use a hand. thanks.

Jordan Guess Posted June 18, 2012 Author Report Posted June 18, 2012 alright thanks, but what about my wiring options with 1.4 ohms per sub? Should I go with two amps that are two ohm stable, or one amp thats 1 ohm stable?
