SnowDrifter Posted March 23, 2013 Author Report Posted March 23, 2013 Small update: This was VERY nerve-racking for me. First time ever glassing anything in the car. BUT, I did it. Learned from it - I already know things I'm going to do different with the passenger side. I glassed the top magnet in place too - it works AWESOME. Get the shell close to the magnet on the dash and it snaps right in place. No fuss about it Pulled out Pulled most of the tape off ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Chris Hammer Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Looks good man. I hope those magnets work great. The only thing I might be worried about is rattling against the surfaces it has contact with..but it probably won't. Those magnets are crazy strong. The only thing I might be worried about is rattling against the surfaces it has contact with..but it probably won't. Those magnets are crazy strong. Thanks man! The way I'm using them puts the pull force at 20lbs. I don't think they will rattle or anything, but if they do, it's easy to put a bit of foam behind it I'm very interested to see what you think about the sound of those tweeters. I may want to add them to my build eventually. Keep up the hard work! I'd recommend them any day. They aren't harsh at all how it seems some super tweeters are. They do pretty well crossed at 3.5k. But if your mids can handle it, I'd say cross them over at 4.5-5k. Oh: and point them straight at your head - no "off axis" stuff. It's a bit different than dome tweeters but IMO that's how they sound the best I'll be sure to get some videos for you of how they sound ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

revoracing247 Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 im interested to see how you're gonna connect the front to the back. just cut the back to shape and then fiberglass the whole front onto the back at the same time? looks good though! ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
