Belt wrap on a Suby! SAY WHAAAAAAT???

Can you give me some more info on that? Belt length, bearings, etc.?

I was looking at making a custom bracket for an idler pulley, and attaching it on the other side of the alternator belt.

Your solution looks WAY better!

And the magnet fixture for the tweeters is brilliant!

I applaud you for being able to see such simple solutions! :clapping:

Are you an engineer by chance? B)

Haha thanks man! I wish I could take credit for the belt wrap, but that's the work of a local shop ;) I honestly don't remember the bearing size. It was was just eyeballed - whatever "looked good" off the shelf lol. Then used a bolt that would fit. It's a grade 5 bolt(don't remember the size. I think 5/8 but don't quote me) bolted through a piece of 1/2" aluminum that was welded to the original bracket..

Belt size for me ended up being 41 5/8. We ran a string around where the belt would go, measured how long it was, got like 5 different belts around that size and used the shortest that would fit

Hopefully these will give you more of an idea

Glassed it too. To be honest I could probably park my car on these things LOL.

5-8 layers of glass all around. I like it when things feel "solid" :pardon:

I may of just had a heart attack, someone on this forum didn't bash a shop............/faint lol

they did a nice job bro, and you don't need so many layers of glass a couple have a ton of strength also I see you learned the smoother the mat and resin the less bondo you need trick lol. I almost fainted when I saw how much bondo you had on the first pod lol.

I probably don't need as much glass. But as I said: I like the feel of solid, weighty things.

Yeeeaaaaahhhhhh that first bondo was a fail. I'm learning lots though :)

Well, I painted the shrounds on my HIDs. That turned out to be more of a project than I anticipated lol. Whatever though, it's done! I didn't get a chance to do some work on the tweeters like I'd hoped though :(

Thanks guys!

I re-did the driver's side tweeter and did the passenger side(for the first time). I was excited to get them done and in so I don't have too much in the way of pics lol

Wrapped. I noticed the wrinkle after I took the picture and re-streched a potion of it so it would go away :D

Bondo. I tried my best to apply it thinly. It had a couple of nearly bald spots, so I think that is about as good as I was going to get. I'm still horrible at applying it smoothly though

Anyone ever watch Finding Nemo? Remember the part where Dory says "just keep swimming, just keep swimming." Well... Just keep sanding, just keep sanding
