Need help please... finding sub displacement

Recommended Posts

I just got a pair of 15" american bass hd's and i can't figure out the subs displacement from this sheet. Can someone break this down in laymans terms to me. How much displacement per woofer do I need. My available box space is 17.5(h)x41(w)x22(d) Total airspace 7.50cuft. thank you thank you thank you.IMG413.jpgIMG414.jpg

I'm not sure if that can be determined from the provided information or not but when I can't find the displacement of a driver when building a home theater speaker or monitor I measure with this method:

Take the magnet diameter and the diameter of the CONE (not including the metal ring with mounting holes surrounding the driver) and imagine them as cylinders with a height equal to the subs mounting depth. Calculate the volume of each cylinder (v=(pi)r^2h) then take the volumes of both respective cylinders and average those figures. This helps to get an estimate close enough to build a box.

This is the only thing I hate about american bass. Bob is still in the stone age and doesnt provide all the specs. At least they recently upgraded their website.
