Riley Evan Houser Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 Hey everybody.. I'm building a ported enclosure for 2 Sundown Audio SA15s at 7 cubes. Was wondering if I could get a few opinions on this.. Right now my port is 5.5" wide and like that it will be tuned to 34hz with a roughly 20" long port, was wondering if I should make the port 4.5" with about an 18.5" length making it 31hz? And would I mess anything up by doing so? Thanks!

bdog Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 35 hz is what they recommend at this they will play all bass pretty equal from my experience if you want lower tuning tune lower 31 would be fine just stick to the 12-15 sq inch of port area per cf of enclosure REP

1-12-t1 Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 so im rebuilding my wall, anybody come up with a good port per sq ft? i did 15inches per sq ft of port and i dont like it >.< also got some 15s so by my experience dont go so high in port per sq ft
BobbyG2 Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 You need to find a happy medium between too little and too much port area. Too little and you lose a lot of output and you get port noise. Too much, and you get a lot of output but lose musicality, and possible unloading issues with the subs. *New vehicle and system coming soon.*
