I adjusted the belt alignment when I got it back last time, and no problems afterwards.I had him replace the brushes, tolerance ring, and brush holders. He fixed some other small parts I didnt write down, but all these parts were replaced in 3 trips to the shop. I after all these were replaced I had had no problems since, except for now. Alt stopped working again so I brought it in, and he took it apart and said the rectifier was blown. He said what causes this is a bad cable, or bed connection. I dont know what to think cause it took 6 months for it to go, and I was wondering if there was more info other then this to troubleshoot the problem. Fiberglass console with removable face plates and arm rests, flushed speakers, lots of toggle switches, Playstation 2, rear view camera, Suede and leather seats, suede headliner, Dakota Digital air gauges, voltage gauges, and current draw gauges. What system are you running (batts, amps, wire etc.) What are your listening habits? Do you ever charge your bats with an external charger when you aren't bumping? Ah I didnt notice that, it was a typo. It is a 250a alt. It had 2awg to the rear and I found it went underneath to a split to the main fuse box before going back to the batteries. This has to be the problem. I disconnected it and used the 1/0awg to go from the batts to the main fuse block, then ran fresh tsunami 1/0 from the bats to the alt. I have 2 runs of 1/0 (not counting this new one) that go into the cab from 2 Kinetik 1800s. Theres 5 amps (only 4 of which are actually used right now, the 300.1 was to a center channel I dont use), all kicker, a 400.4, (2) 350.2 and a 1200.1. I listen to beat at full tilt every once in a while when im in the mood, but its a daily so most of the time just middle volume cruise music. I also have a 3 year old son that rides with me a lot and the music is very low when hes with me. I also have 3 AZ OB1 compressors pulling 300 amps at peak, and I dont run them the same time as the system turned up. between 130-150psi there running around 200-250a, its when the pressure gets up above that they have to work harder. Im pretty sure this was the problem, what do you think?
