Hi ! I need help, I bought DD 2512b subwoofer and I want and good enclosoure for it. I´ve tried it in DD original box but I think its not enough space for this woofer...it sounded good but on higher freq, lower than 40 hz it wasnt so loud ...so I want box tuned around 35hz ,

If somebody ever have done box for this woofer and it sounded really good and loud , please give me some numbers ,and how many littres of cubic feets .....Sorry for my bad english, I am from Slovakia but I really want help from people here on SMD forum, every response will be much appreciated !

I was just wondering what vehicle is it and the specs of the box (port dimensions and external dimensions) in which is it now.

It isnt in vehicle yet...I have my sound system in room, I ve only tried it in vehicle...I have Audison vrx4.300 amp (350wrms bridged 4ohm) and I want an enclosure what will sound loud and low in room and in car too because , later I want to put it in car ...and its hard for me to give you specs of box because here we have Centimetres, not inches , and litress, not cubic feets....

give it about 71 liters after displacement. so the box will be maybe just under 100 liters total. if you can follow:

2.5 ish net cubes with 40 inches of port area with 15.5-17 in squared per foot cubed. tune to 36-38hz and get some more power. that thing wants at least 1000 rms.

We tried it in original DD 2.5 cuft box and the woofer was inverted...I dont know if it depends on it but DD 512 sounded louder and lower than 2512 in that box....I dont know what is wrong but it makes me a little sad...it was on 500wrms amp ...the sub was inverted because the cut out hole was small for this basket on higher serries of DDs...and when I inverted it , the surround touched the box...

i have had no problem sticking to around DD spec or slightly larger. maybe the surround touching the box was a problem. what was it tuned to? to get low tuning lower than 40 is required.

I read that DD original enclosures work perfect with 300,500,1000 and 1500 serries....so the other higher serries need different box , but why do they dont give some box specs on the other serries ? I dont think that DD 9512 will sound perfect in box which is designed for 512 or 1512 ...

OP your home and your car are completely different listening environments, their boxes are to be used in a car. So bear in mind that to start.

yeah I know , but we have tried it in car!!! not in room....in room it sounded good and low in that box but in car it didnt go under 40 hz clear and loud....its not the best box for 2512 , not even if 512 is louder than 2512 in that box....
