wall next summer?

Recommended Posts

ok im considering to wall my ford focus hatchback with 4 rf t2 12"s. i already have 2 12"s im currently using and im wanting to do better then a 150. im currently at a 146.6 on a ac-170 mic and a 145.5 on a ac-190 both scores done in the same box port up sub up 4cuft tuned at 43hz 16.99" of port per foot. i want to be able to do a 151-154 with 4 12s on about 1200rms each 4500-5000rms total in a wall. will do 2-4 xspower d3100 i already have a 250amp singer alt and would be doing another run or 2 of 1/0 gauge. i will make sure the electrical is there for this build if i decide to do it. estimating the price to be somewhere between $2500-$3000 more in equipment, wood, electrical ect ect... plus what i already have. not sure on what amp i will be using but just as a starting point i might pick up a second rf t1500.1bdcp, realy want to try and keep it all rockford so find a good combination of amps could get tricky maybe 4 1500.1bdcp or 4 1000.1bdcp or 2 2500.1bdcp. if i go with the 4 1000.1 or the 2500.1bdcp the cost of the build will go up a good amount so i might be stuck at just 2 t1500.1bdcp till summer of 2014.

here are the specs and sketchup of the box i have in mind. also thinking of a center port wall but havent put anything together for it.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

Can always look for an RF T4000. That would be my suggestion or two T2500s. I think it would be a good build, and a good place to start since you already have two T2s. Maybe sell and grab some AA ;)

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

wouldnt mind the t4000 i know there was one on craigslist but it was a while ago. since i dont plan on doing it till next summer though that gives me just under a year to find one im sure i could do that. i would like to do 2 2500.1 but that price is a little high. i mean 1500 a peice on sonic electronics thats 3000 right there and im trying to keep it at or below 2500 total in which would include 2 more 12s amp(s), batteries more 1/0 gauge and wood. get the t2 12s at the 2 for 1 sale at image audio so that about 900 there. then im gonna need about 15-17ft of 1/0 and thats if i stick with a ground in the back. batteries, im sure if i went to image audio and baught the wires subs and batteries from there i could get a great deal for such a large purchase at once seeing as to how they make their money selling large amounts and not high pricing on small amounts.

if i can find a t4000 ill go that route but if not i will just pick up a second t1500.1bdcp untill i can find a t4000 or untill the following year i could buy a 2500.1bdcp and then sell the 2 1500.1 and buy a second 2500.1. running about 6k watts to 4 12s in a walled focus would be insane.

Pretty sure that was me. I had 4 for sale, 3 mint and one that was burned out. Can't remember what was wrong but it was picked up by akslowroll in fairbanks.

Get rid of the 12's, and step up to some 15's or 18's. I've got a semi-secret build coming up, and let's just say, it's time to roll with the big dogs.

Rebuild in progress

what happens when your CD player skips and you accidentally drop a 22 hz sine bomb at an unholy volume on 7-8 year old subs? Mechanical failure floppy sub knockage on at least 2.

well...as i see the level 6 is compared to a lamborghini.....but a corvette?

i was thinking more like a chevy volt. its cute and new and "hip", but i would just rather stick my dick in a blender.........

well that sucks that i didnt have thoughts of walling then, i found a few 2500.1bdcp on amazon for under 1k each which isnt bad but still a little pricey

there are 2 old school rockford 18s up for grabs on craigslist i thought about but then i thought, how many walls have i seen/read that where using 12s? not many and i would rather be 1 of 1 then 1 of a dozen.

i mean how many walls have you heard of or seen with 4 12"s?

how many ford focus's walled have you seen?

You, Nate, Tim, Josh, and I all got some serious stuff in the work. Would love to see this focus walled.

Nobody does four 12s because its not worth it. Do 12s in a regular box or wall with 15s or 18s. The purpose of the wall is to allow more surface space for cone and more depth for volume, neither of which you need with 12s.

i could do 12's in a regular box but a wall would only help. besides if i decide to go with 15 or 18s in the future i could always tear the back and baffle off and make the box bigger. i mean i could always get 2 more 12 build the wall run 4k rms and then tear it apart mod the box for 2 18s and rune the same 4k rms then up the power later.

some people call it a rebuilding, my build will never end. this was going to be my last year trying to chase numbers but i want to break 150 and i can do that with 4 12s on 4k+rms in a wall so why now do it?? next time i have time and money to run into town im gonna get my current setup tested on a termlab but i do a 146.6 on a ac-170 at 44hz and a 144.5 on a ac-190 but im thinking it was an off day when i was metered on the ac-190, my voltage just wasnt holding up as well as it usualy does.
