checking subs for use?

allright i found a sick deal on craigslist on two dc LVL5 18s dual 1s for 800 both BNIB thats 800 for the pair... if i was to go check these out what do i look for to see if they have actually been used

Stiffness when you push down on the cone and check to see if the spider is still straight if it's kinda sunken in its been used either hard or for awhile

Take a multimeter with you and ohm them out to make sure they arent blown.

Play them pretty hard for at least 10 min inside an enclosure after electrical check and looking at evidences of repair or abuse.

and if they are new they are going to be super clean no dust at all

My only question is whats the difference in looks between the levels? I mean i wouldnt know a level 1 from 6, because i dont use those subs, so would you know the difference?

bring a scale i think the lvl 5s are 90 plus pounds
