Kris4b11
I had a silly question about making a sealed box. Would it make sense putting 45's in a sealed box? I know the air isn't going anywhere but I've read on the forum somewhere that only about 3" in the port air is actually leaving the box and everything thing else just moves around. Also what about glassing inside a sealed box? Factory double din navi unit with 30gb internal Crescendo bc3500 DD 9512i
Joe X
If you think you need bracing place a crossbrace, really just make sure the box is big enough for the sub.
Mr.JaunDurfle
No 45's needed, unless you are using them to compensate for cuts that aren't the straightest so your box is air tight. 2001 VW Passat Sportwagen Alpine ICS-X7HD DC Audio 5K SSA 15" XCON Tantric Sounds 6.5HD's, Sundound Audio SA-6.5CS Incriminator Audio IA6.4 XS batteries, KnuKonceptz wirez, Second Skin
Daniel Shepard
I have heard that It prevents standing sound waves, I guess that does make sense if you think about it.
Kris4b11
Thanks for all the input guys ... I'll build 2 boxes, add bracing probably use some dowels and 1 with 45's 1 without... Won't be anytime soon cuz I just bought some coilovers and I'll try to share the results... I've never built a sealed enclosure so thought I should try it out to see if there's any huge difference in my car.
