252chevyboyz
I appreciate it man. Yea I am gonna try to have everything painted and bed lined by August 15-20. That way I'm not rushed and can make sure it looks as good as it can. It's gonna be raining tomorrow also so we may not be able to pick up the wood for your box since everything will be wet still - 1997 Chevy Tahoe- Big 3 (1/0)- Dual Autocraft Batts- JVC KD-A315 HU- AQ 2200.1D- 18" AQ HDC3- Box w/ Removable Port (6ft^3 @ 36hz & 6.7ft^3 @ 42hz)- 39' 1/0 & 13' 2/0 Flex-A-Prene My Selling Feedback Build Log

SMZ2
2nd and final coat of oil based: Man it really does look great this box is coming together nice. The paint looks really smooth too. How did you like that paint I'll probably use the same kind but a different color? 252chevyboyz
So far I like the paint and it even held its glossy look which I wasn't really expecting but it was a nice surprise. You can feel it and its just as smooth as can be though. I did 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of oil based so its pretty thick. Got a few pics below of the port after it dried and I removed the tape off of it. -James - 1997 Chevy Tahoe- Big 3 (1/0)- Dual Autocraft Batts- JVC KD-A315 HU- AQ 2200.1D- 18" AQ HDC3- Box w/ Removable Port (6ft^3 @ 36hz & 6.7ft^3 @ 42hz)- 39' 1/0 & 13' 2/0 Flex-A-Prene My Selling Feedback Build Log
252chevyboyz
I dont have the screws in the port so it's not pulled flush with the fixed port. I just had the port in long enough to take the pics. You can see the little gap around the outside but most of that is pulled together when I have the screws holding it in place. - 1997 Chevy Tahoe- Big 3 (1/0)- Dual Autocraft Batts- JVC KD-A315 HU- AQ 2200.1D- 18" AQ HDC3- Box w/ Removable Port (6ft^3 @ 36hz & 6.7ft^3 @ 42hz)- 39' 1/0 & 13' 2/0 Flex-A-Prene My Selling Feedback Build Log
252chevyboyz
I finally got my ground wire soldered tonight to go from the amp to the frame. I will be installing it this coming week hopefully early on in the week. I will have updates on the ground and I also will get the box bed lined this coming also. -James - 1997 Chevy Tahoe- Big 3 (1/0)- Dual Autocraft Batts- JVC KD-A315 HU- AQ 2200.1D- 18" AQ HDC3- Box w/ Removable Port (6ft^3 @ 36hz & 6.7ft^3 @ 42hz)- 39' 1/0 & 13' 2/0 Flex-A-Prene My Selling Feedback Build Log
ch0sen
sexy solder job, since your at the coast you may want to put some undercoating or bedliner paint or something over your grounds to help with corrosion. 252chevyboyz
I appreciate it there chosen. The wheel wells are sprayed with some undercoating to cut down on road noise but are you talking about spraying the actual terminal with undercoating once it put on? Also I think I'm going to take the red boot off and replace it with heat shrink. I may put it back up there but if I can pick up a black one from the local shop I'll put heat shrink on then put a black boot on it. I was wondering how to keep the front of the terminal from corroding when I do make trips to Atlantic Beach but I didnt know if I could spray undercoating on my terminal like that. @smz: hope we can get that big 3 done on your truck this week and soldering really isn't hard at all. Just got to have patience is all. You catch on to the soldering process fairly quickly I believe - 1997 Chevy Tahoe- Big 3 (1/0)- Dual Autocraft Batts- JVC KD-A315 HU- AQ 2200.1D- 18" AQ HDC3- Box w/ Removable Port (6ft^3 @ 36hz & 6.7ft^3 @ 42hz)- 39' 1/0 & 13' 2/0 Flex-A-Prene My Selling Feedback Build Log
ch0sen
just grind the metal down like normal and install the ground like normal, then once all is said and done paint over what is left, that undercoating should grind right off pretty easy My current 95 Jetta Build w/ pioneer h/u 2 RD Sonance 10's with flatwind coils 2 Audiopipe apsm 1500.1s 1 Hifonics Brutus Elite 60x4 1 XS d925 1 Stinger spv35 1 1000 amp lead acid 50 ft of 0/1 ofc from Audiotechnix all powerbass components, and coaxils, 4 sets buildlog = http://www.stevemead...2-rd-10s-build/ My build for my wife. http://www.stevemead...01-f-150-build/
