Need some help selecting Speakers/Sub

Hey everyone! I've been researching and researching what I should get for weeks now and its starting to just get too much to keep track of, I need some help here. Im looking to build something that is primarily SQ but I can get loud every once in awhile (Yeah I know, during my research I came across about a thousand forum posts all over the internet that start exactly this way haha) I have been out of the car audio game for awhile now, so I'm kinda lost (a LONG while, you'll see in a minute) there are all these new companies who I have never heard of and it seems like a lot of the stuff that used to be great isnt so great anymore. I dont really want to get into extra batteries and bigger alternators and stuff but I'm willing to do some minor modification to get stuff to fit. I probably want to do dynamat (or similar) for sq and there is the possibility that I will be upgrading my engine in various ways that are probably going to make it louder later on down the road. As far as budget goes, I'm willing to spend what it takes to get good stuff I just dont want to go completley nuts and end up with stuff worth half the price of my car! Anyway here is what I have already:

2000 Jeep Cherokee (No Infinity system)

Audio Control Crossover

Audio Control Line Driver

Kicker ZR600 (the birth sheet says something around 950 RMS I don't remember)

Subs I have been looking into (basically want to do 1 12 or 15):

Fi Q 12, possibly 15

IDMAX 12

Fi SSD (Havent looking into it as much as the Q)

JL W7 12 (most people seem to not really recommend it though and it IS pricey)

Polk SR12

Speakers

Car takes 5.25s, are those brackets to 6.5s a good idea? Also I want to get a second amp for these. I like the idea of components but there is really very little room/places to put tweeters in the Jeep, I have a buddy whos pretty good at this stuff but I dont trust myself to do it at all.

I've heard good things about RE Audio/Polk/Image Dynamics speakers but haven't looked into them much.

I can pretty much decide on the amp for the speakers on my own. It seems to be a more clear cut decision. As far as head units go it seems like Pioneer is ahead of the game right now with the DEH-80PRS. Do I really need something that fancy though with an external amp and crossover box and all that? A buddy of mine says he has a nice eq box too but I havent checked it out yet. RCA Outs seem to be pretty low distortion on a lot of them. I really don't care about bluetooth/dvd/touchscreen/navigation/ipod/sat radio/etc. I just want CD playback with the highest SQ possible. I dont really mess with mp3 that often because of the quality loss. If there is a HU that plays FLAC though that would be awesome!

Thanks a lot guys, I just have way too many options and I'm never going to be able to decide on my own since all the car audio shops around me sell strictly clarion and JL so I cant hear anything. I have researched a lot more stuff but from what Ive read it seems like those are the best options, correct me if im wrong though! There are also a lot of subs especially that I looked at that which seem really awesome but I can't find them for sale anywhere anymore. I guess discontinued? One of them was a JBL I think it was called a mkIII or something.

Oh yeah and is there a good place where I can get response curves and complete specs (THD etc) on all this stuff? Thanks again I really appreciate any help.

No I'm being totally serious. I've been reading a lot about all this stuff and the stuff I mentioned seems to be the stuff that gets reccomended the most. Without being able to hear any of it in person though its hard to decide. I specifically made a thread here instead of another forum because you guys seem to know what your talking about more where in other forums a lot of replys are "This will bump harder I guarantee it!" It seems like a lot of the stuff I was reading was pretty old too so maybe new stuff is out I dont know about.

Ok then ... Its just that moderators around here do not like "Verses" threads ... Mainly pretaining to the bassheads comparing different drivers and amps practically made by the same companies ... I thnink you get my idea here, trying to keep the forum civil verses "my shit is better than your shit" type of bashing threads ... LOL ...

As far as head units / processors / line drivers go ... I prefer the all in one headunit, the Kenwood DNX9980HD ... Simple, and to the point ...

But as for Audio Control ... I do like their products ...

Yeah I get what your saying completley. That head unit does look nice, However it is a LOT more expensive and apparently does not fit my car. There is also already a fit kit in there from the previous owner who put a Boss DVD player HU in there which I can't wait to get rid of. The thing operates in the strangest way, you need the remote for even some basic features and it freezes all the time. Thanks for the suggestion though! I actually did come across Blues Audio at one point during my research (might have even been one of your posts here), I'll definitley give them a second look! It looks like the closest dealer is about 3 hours from me though

Today I actually did take a look at a local car audio shop. The guy had great prices but something just didnt sit right with me. When I told him about my amp he said it was too much to bother with, when I talked to him about door speakers he pretty much told me the speakers dont matter so much as the installation quality and handed me a JL booklet and told me about how great the C2 series is and I should definitley try to fit 6.5s in there. When I asked him about a head unit he said I should just go with a Sony CDX-GT660UP. I mean not to bash anyones products/services but I sell home electronics for a living and I was getting the vibe that he was trying to sell me the items with the most profit in them.

EDIT: Oh yeah I forgot to mention before I have heard a lot of good things about Sundown subs, I noticed you guys have advertisements for them on here as well, so I take it those are real nice too?

EDIT2: Hey you know what I'm off work the next couple days and I wouldnt mind driving up to Cincinatti to check out some shops around there. Anyone know of a good place?

Yeah its the Cherokee (XJ) not Grand Cherokee.

I guess Ive pretty much decided to do some components for the front, and something cheaper for the back since a lot of people seem to feel the back speakers aren't very important. I see their point though. I still can't decide if I want to try and cram a 6.5 in there or just stay with 5.25s. Apparently I don't have a lot of depth to work with so I probably wouldnt have a lot of options with 6.5s either. The PC 130s from focal apparently will not fit, the PS 130 components will though. Alpine SPR-50Cs will also fit and are a lot cheaper. The Rockford R152-S looks nice as well, Polk has the db5251 (EDIT: and I just saw the DXi Series), and Infinity has the Kappa 50.9cs. On paper the Polk/Infinity sets seem the nicest but without having the full specs and a response curve its really impossible to say. So again I've completley changed what I was originally looking at, and thinking about changing it again if I decide to go 6.5s

I was looking at those Q-Form kick panels which would accomodate pretty much any 6.5, but Im worried they are going to get kicked by my clumsy friends too much. They are also pretty pricey for something you can proabably just make yourself with fiberglass. Not that I know how to do that but a friend of mine probably does or knows someone who does. Unless you guys very strongly reccomend going 6.5 I think I'll just stay 5.25 to try and avoid additional confusion.

EDIT: A friend of mine has some old school Kove Armageddon Z series 10s. I really don't know that much about them other than the fact that they get insanely loud. Would they be good for a SQ build?
