Sub Advice Please

Recommended Posts

Im trying to get the best bang for my money so I hope some people can point me in the right direction. Everything will be going in a 2001 Honda Civic sedan. Basically, I need only one sub for 95% rap music. I'm looking for hard hitting, deep bass that sounds as good as I can get it haha. I don't want a sub that sounds perfect because I can't spend to much.

I'm looking at this http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Kicker-CVX12-R-12-Subwoofer-750-Watts-Dual-2-Ohm-10CVX12D2-10CVX12D2-RS and that's around my spending limit. I had 2 12 CVX's in my old car for about a year and didnt have a problem with them.

Any other suggestions? Thanks

Try a Sundown SA 8". Those little bastards slam. What kind of amp are you running, or want to run?

Whats your max amount you'll spend?

alpine type r is good for rap . for best bang for the buck and best low performance i would go for a 15 if you only plan to run 1 sub .sundown has a 15 for $130 .

otherwise here is a deal for you if budget is a biggy

i might buy a couple of these when i get some more cash

$175 is my limit.

I'm getting an 01 Civic and don't want to fill up the entire trunk so I dont think a 15 will work...

I just want a single sub

I dont know what kind of amp I'll get. Just a good, reliable amp that wont cost to much and will have enough power for the sub.

I've never heard the Alpine Type R sub. Can anyone compare it to the Kicker cvx? It looks like theyre around the same price

If I were u wait until you have the car before you do or buy anything,

Take some meserment of what you have and what your willing to give,

And if you want to keep the spair tyre(I think it under the floor) so it may determine the size of box a well

Also when buying a sub, you'll need a budget for both, sub and amp and should buy both at the same time, that way you will get a good combination, if you neither

you may be better of with say a 4 or 5ch amp

To save space and $$$ on 2 amps

I doubt you'll be able to get what your looking for with a $175 budget, considering you haven't said anything about a head unit, amplifier or power supply.
