Tarball Posted July 31, 2012 Report Share Posted July 31, 2012 I'm torn in a decision. Will be running a Soundstream xxx 4000d on 16 charging / 14v batteries. My drivers are a pair of RE MT 15s with dual progressive spiders and dual 1.4 ohm coils and dual tinsel leads. Going into an s10 cut-though. Should I use both 15s @ 1.4 ohms (roughly guesstimating 3300 watts) or a single 15 @ .7 ohms to take the full power from the amp. My concerns are: Overpowering the single (only dual spiders) Underpowering the pair (these subs will need some power to get moving) Would love some opinions from some people that have used the RE MT line. Mids & Highs Amp: CT125.4 Active Components: Mids RE XXX 6.5c Highs - 3 RE XXX tweeters per side(A pillar) Noise Control: Damplifier Pro all over the cab. If you have the space to do two and it was my build i would go that way, But ive never used the RE subs so I dont know what they can take. hopefully someone chimes in with experience PSN: Rcp_soundz Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at.
