hotshot27 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 I can only think of a couple practical uses for this, but is it possible to have a slot port AND and circular port in the same box? my reason for asking is i want to change the tuning of a box i already have made and dont want to rip it apart to make the slot bigger. I can still reinforce the circular port but was just curious if it would work if proper port calculations are combined or would it completely be a bust. I'm more asking about the theory of it working versus an actual individual situation working. Sorry if this is a weird question. Current Setup: Factory HU with LOC mids/highs-Insignia components Sub- E8 in bass tube Amp- sae-1200d Show Setup: HU-Sony MEX-1HD (brings massive respect for sony) fronts - Infinity Kappa perfect comps rears- Infinity Kappa coax mid/high amp - Autotek 5600 Subs - 2 RE SE 15's Sub Amps - 2xSAE-1200D Box - 5cubes sealed Wire- Lots of Knu 1/0 SECOND SKIN

Then cut out the circle port holes somewhere else on the box. I have a whole sheet of MDF and will probably just build another box with the new lower tuning but i was still wondering from a hypothetical perspective if it could be done? And besides mixing ports,could you have a port of any shape as long as the dimensions are constant and a calculatable port area? such as a triangle, hexagon, oval?
