christamez80
Just wanting to know why this keeps happening to my alternator wire. It keeps frying the ends. It is 0 gauge knukoncept wire from battery to alternator. Stock alternator. On 05 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 Liter. Only have one amp on my highs so it's not draining the battery. Any suggestions? 8ight
Make sure that your wire DOES NOT touch anything but the + post on the alt (use a properly sized nut as a spacer). Quote I'm gonna hate
RooTxBeeR
Do you even have a fuse on the wire? christamez80
It's not touchin any ground. It does it on both ends. Don't kno where the cut came from but replaced it 3 times and it keeps doin the same thing. I don't have a fuse between it but now I think I should. Guest
how did you attach the lugs to the wire? looks to be a shitty connection between the lug and the wire.
RooTxBeeR
A fuse is a must! Expesially on that wire, that's the wire that is feeding your entire systems power source. Get a fuse on that asap. christamez80
I used the lug that was on the alternator. Just put a small washer between bolt and terminal.
