qcbangin
I've tried and tried to download Torres and for some reason I can't. So, since I can't download it would someone help me design a box for a skar ivx 15? If anyone is willing to help, here is what I'm working with. Equipment: Sub: Skar ivx 15d2 Amp: hifonics Zeus 500.2 Vehicle: 1991 Lincoln towncar Trunk is pretty damn big so not really limited too much for a single 15, but I'll go get exact measurements real quick. Goal: as loud as it can get for a daily box! I listen to mostly rap. I'm going to run it bridged at 4ohms, so it will be over-powered but it will be tuned with a dd1. The specs of the sub say 3.5ft^3 @35hz Edit: measurements of trunk is 26"H X 29"D X 42"W. That is usable space measurements. Actual trunk measurements are 27"H X 60"D X 55"W. The trunk of a towncar is designed weird which is why usable measurements are so different than the actual size of the trunk. teamace24
If you were to not include the 45's at all what needs to change on your measurements to compensate? Joe X
Not necessary, just try to round or slant a bit the port corner if possible.
qcbangin
Got to work on the box today. Don't seem to be having any problems so far. Its looking great. Thanks alot, I really appreciate it. I do have question, tho. Does it matter where I put the sub at on the baffle? Should I put closer to the port, or further from the port? Joe X
You want it far form the internal end of the port, I would place it as shown, in low depth boxes the sub placement can become really important.
qcbangin
That's what I thought. I bout got the box done. Now just got to wait for the sub/amp to get here. And decide if I want to paint, carpet, or leave it bare?
bassface
IMO Joe's the man when it comes to box help. Nice to have helpful members on a forum like him.
qcbangin
It is good that there are people like Joe on here. People like him who are willing to help people without asking for anything in return. I asked for help, and he was quick to help. Had me a design in less than an hour after I posted. Thanks again, Joe. I appreciate it. When I figure out how to upload pics, I'll post some pics. Edit:one more question Joe. On the L port, where the 2 pieces meet, is it ok that its a corner and not rounded? Or does it need to be rounded? It just seems a lil close to the 45 in the port corner.
