Maebros
so im planning on getting some level 4 12's running of a bc3500 when i get back from my deployment. but right now im trying to come up with some box designs for it. i was hopin to maybe get some advice on what to and what not to do. as it stands im looking at putting them in a 3ft3 box becasue that is what dc reccomends. but i was wondering where an optimal tuning would be for them. and any extra things i would need to take into consideration. CJ18
I would tune based on what you like to listen to. For a daily system I dont think there is a magic freq that you should tune your box to. If you like alot of rap then go low, in the 30-33hz range. If you like more rock or country, something in the 35-38hz range would probably be good.
Maebros
yeah i was thinking somewhere around 34hz. so i geuss that works. any thing else i should take into consideration while designing the box. CJ18
If you are doing a trunk system, i would do a center port with a chamber on each side. Will give you a uniform look and avoid any possible loading issues

Sheena
since its a later model civic like mine.. (2009) you will have no problem getting 3 cu ft out of the trunk.. basically load the subs facing forward toward the cabin, and pushed all the way against the trunk lid. center port or passenger side port if you dont care about numbers. its just me in my car so i put passenger side port so i load off my side of the car. 3500 watts your going to fall in love with the windshield flex. i run a sk-1500 on 2 skar vvx 12"s tuned to 32.. and my windshield is pretty bad lol. just a heads up since your on this topic.. deaden the trunk lid, and REAR DECK immediately!!!!!! they will be louder than your bass.
