Take your time, or clamp a straight edge to the board to act as a fence. i think i may have to do that .. i do it for that big cuts ... would a router work ? The layman's best choice is a router with a plunge bit. Then you can clamp or screw 2x4s around the perimeter at the exact desired spot + offset and just go to town!! Easy-peasy!
