he will need 3 to 4 batteries.. sundown suggest 3 to 4 d3100 on a sa4500d and its rated at 4500 watts, so how will 1 d3100 be enough for 6000 watts

ok error on my part i read your parts list wrong. yeah you will need more than 1 battery for 6k for some reason i was reading it as 1500 watts. dont know where i got that from. anyways.

if you want to play with the vehicle off maybe look into xs power's XP series.

I looked at the XP series and the battieries i mentioned above put out more amps then the XP series. But since everyone seems to think i can run the BTLS with that much power on 2 batteries, im glad i ordered that. I was thinking of putting a red top battery where the car runs off that power

I would really like a definite answer on the amount of batteries one would need to accomplish such an adventure

there is no way to know for sure before hand.

you may be wired to 1 ohm nominal but you may be rising to 4 or even 8 ohm pulling alot less amperage

i have ran 7k on a 250 amp alt and a single 70ah battery and didnt drop under 12 volts, after i put all my batts back in (500 ah total) it doesnt drop under 13 volts.

getting a good alternator is the best first step. if you are only pulling 150 amps off a 250amp alternator your batteries will never be getting pulled from. only once your voltage drops below your batteries resting voltage will you be running off battery reserve.

and if this is a budget build you may want to look at other brands i run c&d batteries and paid under 400 for 500 ah of batteries.

I stopped calling it a budget build since this is what I want. The car audio shop in my town is doing it since im deployed and wont be able to. but i dont want them ordering anything and charging me extra for the orders. which is why im trying to get everything squared away now
