flashlight_65 Posted September 9, 2012 Author Report Posted September 9, 2012 It feels pretty good but I'll let you know after taking it out for a ride in the car and walking around with it My builds: my caddy my 'hoe friends impala
flashlight_65 Posted September 20, 2012 Author Report Posted September 20, 2012 Got bored and made some belt loops for OWB carry. I made a jig for 1 3/4" and 1 1/2" belt loops. The one above is 1 3/4". My builds: my caddy my 'hoe friends impala
flashlight_65 Posted September 20, 2012 Author Report Posted September 20, 2012 After wearing it out and about and multiple car rides my final thought on it was it's badthefuckass! No pinch points, no hotspots, no awkward getting in and out of the car, no "holster lean" sitting in the car and it's really light and low profile. I love this style holster (and I'm not just saying that cause I made it) whoever conceived this style rig is genius. A few of my fellow Belleau woodsmen have already asked me to make them one, I'm making one for a fellow Sgt as soon as I get the Kydex in. I gave him the homie hook up and just charged him a few sheets of Kydex. I'm still figuring how much I'm gonna charge, I was thinking $50-55 for a regular holster like made myself and $60-65 for a light bearing holster. What do you gentlemen think about the price? If there is a decent demand I'm really gonna have to invest in a belt sander and buffer cause doing it by hand sucks. My builds: my caddy my 'hoe friends impala

The Raven holsters are 80-100 if i remember correctly ... Will the prices be for the IWB/Owb rig or you gonna charge a few extra bux for the hooks etc??? flashlight_65 Posted September 20, 2012 Author Report Posted September 20, 2012 I'll charge for the extras. $5 for extra belt loops or j-hooks. I was thinking $15 for single mag holders too. I'm gonna make some M16 mag carriers when I get some more kydex in and see if there is any interest in those. I'll post a thread up when I start that project. Bigsix Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Looks great, the only shitty thing is, if someone that isnt local to you wants one ( Like Bobby for example).... You need the same make and model to make the holster, so unless you own the same gun or have access to it, they are kinda ass out. Your prices sound very fair though... And great job on it, especially for your first attempt. 1999 Lincoln Town Car-(build underway) - (2) SA15s, 4th order, DAT 2500.1, O2 mids n highs, 250a alt, HC 2400, Big 3.... 1994 Pontiac T/A for speeding tickets.- - Currently on jack stands, wanting to be a real race car "Your local forecast, all the ladies in the metro area should expect to see 8 inches tonight" - The Todd Decaf, on 01 November 2011 - 02:38 PM, said: i provide the ammo for destruction, the trigger finger is connected to the volume knob tho URBAN GORILLA AUDIO
flashlight_65 Posted September 21, 2012 Author Report Posted September 21, 2012 Thanks again gents, I agree, and for the price I'd pretty much have to turn around and spend it to buy a blue gun replica for a different pistol. I figured I'd charge what I would be willing to pay for a holster like that, but on the bright side I can make M16/AR15 mag carriers, HK USP tactical, S&W M&P 9 full size and FN 5.7 gear all day. flashlight_65 Posted September 23, 2012 Author Report Posted September 23, 2012 Made a trigger guard jig to help clear a passage for the light on my next holster. Cut a small piece of dowel to reinforce the thinner piece under the rocker switch. Cut dowel rods to create a path for the rail lock on each side. All the pieces will be taped on the gun once I'm ready to form the kydex. Just waiting on FedEx to bring me my shit. My builds: my caddy my 'hoe friends impala
flashlight_65 Posted October 31, 2012 Author Report Posted October 31, 2012 You cant tell from the picture but I polished the trigger bar where it contacts the firing pin block. And then I started the undercut on my trigger guard. (The hope I don't fuck this up pucker factor was up there) This is how it's sitting now. It needs a lot of work still but this step is making it easier to take the plunge to start stippling it. My builds: my caddy my 'hoe friends impala
flashlight_65 Posted November 20, 2012 Author Report Posted November 20, 2012 Finally finished the undercut and had the stones to put a hot iron to the frame. After doing the front strap the back needs attention, I need a trip to the range to see how these mods have changed the shootability of the pistol first. Next on my list are a new set of sights. I'm looking at the Ameriglo pro i-dots or XS big dots (it would be nice if they made the rear stripe with a tritium insert on the M&P) My builds: my caddy my 'hoe friends impala
