CaPRiCEx383
Also, One more thing, Your system will be most likely hooked up to the back batt so it will need to constantly be charged by the front one, Which gets the power from the Alt thus putting another load on it, So pretty much in the end it should be evenly distributed between both. WastedTalent
I getcha. That was a great example haha. Think some car now is being made like that. It's a V8 or something, but drives as a V6 until you push it then the rest kicks in. More "economical". Saw a commercial for it awhile ago. Watch the bass
Urgent is to dont mix AGM´batts with lead acid batt´s. Still a good deal, get 2 of those http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/144556-dont-seem-like-a-bad-deal/, with the saved money to XS you can pay al the wires, fuses and so on for the install of the batt´s. viper1315
Also be sure to do the big 3, Step that fuse up to a 300 amp since you would be running a 270 alt and the wire shouldn't be over 5ft or so. (Big 3 charge wire). i was told a 250 would be fine so i need a 300 amp fuse for sure? D-train-13k
Battery can be a smaller one if you want. I would get a xp3000 for the back and be done with it. As to hooking them up, It's as easy as connecting the positive to positive and negative to negative ( or a nice chassis ground in the back). Just make sure you fuse within 18" of front batt and 18" before the rear battery and you're good to go. Question about that. To get all technical, if you connect the smaller one to the bigger one, what happens with the current? Like if you crank it to start the car, does the power come from the bigger one, or both? And the alternator charges which? I get what you mean about how to wire them, just wondering about the technical aspect of it. running batteries in parallel such as how everyone does on here mean that the total amperage of each battery will be put together thus creating in a sense a much larger battery with more capacity. voltage will still stay the same on this kind of a circuit. if you connect the alternator to the front battery it will charge both batteries. in a sense it will push amperage through the first battery then the second and so on and so forth Quote The IrishmanCheck out my build hereXL 4th order wall build logIn Progress:alpine cda HU4th order Bandpass2xl 15's1- ab 400.1 (gonna be two hopefully)4- Crescendo 8's2- xts crecendo supertweeters 2 sq super tweetsMb quart 4.125Mechman 270a alt1- xs D27003- xs XP3000 4- odessey pc1700seller feed back threadhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/136418-d-train-13k/
