tdc3187 Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 I've had a little bad luck with animals lately. My chihuahua was killed by a big dog, my lab had his nose scarred up by a stray cat while trying to pee on some bushes, and some lady blatantly releasing her dog to charge my family (including my six year old). Well that will now change, I just got my baton to add a little distance and maintain distance between the attackers and my family until I can establish a clear intention of the rogue animals. I have to say this thing feels freaking solid. It's a bit heavier then I expected, but I'm not complaining, and the sound of this thing popping open is enough to make you think twice. tdc3187 Posted August 30, 2012 Author Report Posted August 30, 2012 No, it's not that heavy. I can easily still flick it open with a quick wrist turn. It seems like it would give someone a really bad couple of days with a mild hit. ** and my main goal is distance. Chris Hammer Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 My mom keeps one of those under her bed. I use it when I walk the dog. and twice it has saved both of us. First was a Mastiff mix...took 4-5 good hits to get it to back off and go away. Second was pit and some guy was walking it. The pit pulled and the leash "slipped"(you put the loop over your wrist of the opposite hand to avoid this)....I was walking my dog after he had surgery and there wqas no way he was defending himself. Same thing I popped the baton and it only took 2-3 before it had enough and backed off. Then the owner tried to come after me for hurting his dog. Calle dthe police and settled the issue..and he got a ticket. MY BUILD *****http://tinyurl.com/gmcbuild***** Vehicles 2005 GMC Canyon CB1000r - Currently where any future funds are going. Self Defense can quickly turn to Manslaughter bro... I prefer to use pepper spray because it has a LONGER reach and is TOTALLY non lethal but Effective as FUCK lol Team MaxRetribution Si Vis Pacem Parabellum Id rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 Bowhunting- Life Begins and Ends at Full Draw Bowhunting Team Fatal Trajectory Hunt Team http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/49335-sick96vtecaccords-t-line-build/?hl=sick96vtecaccord << Accord Build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/68498-smokedout08impalas-tline-build/?hl=+sick96vtecaccord << Impala T-line build Rebassed.com for all your music needs 👌

BTW. Good choice on the Baton. Ours is the same brand and has held up well throught the years. I use Asp they have always done me solid PLUS they are lighter than Monadnock but still just as strong **Just some helpful info for everyone... When it comes to using a baton Stick to swinging in a downward chopping motion around the back of the arms/elbow area... Or Strike the sides of thigh or behind the knee... Those are all considered Green Zones which means they are non life threatening but HIGHLY effective if you strike them Team MaxRetribution Si Vis Pacem Parabellum Id rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 Bowhunting- Life Begins and Ends at Full Draw Bowhunting Team Fatal Trajectory Hunt Team http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/49335-sick96vtecaccords-t-line-build/?hl=sick96vtecaccord << Accord Build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/68498-smokedout08impalas-tline-build/?hl=+sick96vtecaccord << Impala T-line build Rebassed.com for all your music needs 👌

I know alot of people think go for the head but like you said self defense can turn to manslaughter quickly. Those things can break bones and breaking someones arm or blowing out their knee is more than enough to stop almost anyone.
