what is everyones over all thoughts on that brand. im thinking about doing an all American bass build, an would also like to know are they more spl or sq, or a mixture.

a friend runs theyre amps and they seem to take a beating and put out great power

I run 5 of their 120.1's at .5 ohm each and they are great amps. Also run a few of their mids in my doors and they get very loud and sound clear. Alot of my friends really like their xfl subs but I've never tried them.

Great products at a great price!!

HD and VFL amps are very good for putting out lots of power, are stable lower than specified, and sound surprisingly good. In my friends install we swapped his JL Audio 1000/1's out for 2 VFL 80.1 amps just to see what they would do strapped on 2 W7's. They put out close to rated power even know the ohm load was a little high for them. The interesting thing was they sounded every bit as good as the JL amps did. They sounded better than the Orion 2500D which was in before the JL's.

The XFL subs are a great sub for the price, sound great, get loud, and play pretty low. I just bought 2 of the XO subs for a friend. They get loud but something sounds just a bit off. I haven't looked into it and it just might be his amp settings but they seem to have an unnatural sound to them in the 70+ freq range. They are very inexpensive though so they still live up to my expectations for them.

Make sure you get a sub that you can lookup the TSp's on.

I have a VFL extreme and can't find specs anywhere, and AB did not respond to my email asking for the specs on the sub I have

It does slam hard though.

I got it for $200 with a box.

I think the box is leaking. It's built pretty poorly. It smells at high volumes.

Also could be my electrical.

So I can't really give a legit review on this sub, yet.

But it does slam pretty damn hard as it is.

Make sure you have the electrical to power the amps and wiring is big enough for the wattage/amperage going through it.

BTW a guy on CL said he gave this sub 2500w rms clean power.

Have you tried the sub/box in an SUV? When I switched from my 96 blazer to the HHR, I noticed a lot of frequencies (probably the 70hz range you are talking about) just sort of "humm" and don't put out much bass. lambo mercy killed a sub I had before. before, in the blazer, never had any problems. then all of a sudden I fried a sub (luckily under warranty)

I have one xfl 15 running on an aq2200 at 1 ohm its been a month so far and the coil still looks like new
