I was looking at getting the AQ1200D. it puts out 1200 at 1 ohm on Output Power of 14.4V @ 1% THD and 1470 at Output Power 14.4V @ 5% THD. zydrix Posted October 8, 2012 Report Posted October 8, 2012 your going to want to throw at least 1k to each sub. make sure its clean unclipped power. an those would sound good. my bro has the 2.5 15" an that thing barely moves on 600 watts, still sounds really good. but could take more. My build 98 s10 2.2 3 american bass HD 15s with psi soft parts. (on there way here) atomic at-3000.1 (soon) 146.2 outlaw @39hz., bad alt an bad batt when termed (old 2 12" build) alpine 6.5s in doors infinty 4x6s in dash. clarion cz201 HU. mechman 240a H/O alt stuff i still need. SHCA 2/0 wire SHCA 1/0 to 2/0 adapters Atomic AT-3000.1 Lots of sound deadner new mids an highs, still debating on what to do. A few Deka g31 batts.

Omega5002 Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 AQ1200 should be fine for the pair, especially since you're running stock, and the fact from what I hear, the AQ1200 is very effcient. Thd is total harmonic distortion, The total harmonic distortion, or THD, of a signal is a measurement of the harmonic distortion present and is defined as the ratio of the sum of the powers of all harmonic components to the power of the fundamental frequency. THD is used to characterize the linearity of audio systems and the power quality of electric power systems. In audio systems, lower THD means the components in a loudspeaker, amplifier or microphone or other equipment produce a more accurate reproduction by reducing harmonics added by electronics and audio media. which is basically how clean the sound is, and the lower, the better you speakers will sound in general. If money is an issue, especially when it comes to your electrical then I suggest you browse the for sale section and find a beast used amp with money to spend on a good battery and big 3. 1,500-2,000 watts would be nice for those subs Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
