GMC_Matt Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 sup guys so my cousin is getting 2 re XXX 15s and he's not sure what ohm to get he's going to be running it off a 4000 watt power acoustik amp. my question is if he parallels both subs at 2 ohms will it make it 1 ohm or .5 ohms?
dyablo409 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 It would make it .5 He could series/ parallel to get a 2ohm load with 2 ohm coils. Or get 4ohm coils and series those for a final of 1ohm hope this helped. You need to check what ohm the amp is stable at and go from there

So you will either have to run at .5 or 2 ohms. He should get a better amp to run em at rated power at 2ohm.. Why spend a ton on subs when your amp doesnt make enough power for one of them? He owuld be better off spending money on 1 and putting th rest toward enclosure and a good amp. Chris Hammer Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 i gotta say it, and not trying to be rude but why on earth is he dropping nearly 2k on subs and then buying what i am guessing is a 2-300 dollar poop amp? 150 if its the BAMF(bad ass motherf@cker) amp. that looks like a cheap Rockford t series knockoff. He should get one XXX run it parallel so 1ohm final load and go with a good amp like a BC2000 or something close to 2000w RMS. I would put money on it the XXX on BC2k would be louder than the 2 XXX on a PowerAcoustik4000w(max) amp wired at 2ohm. That amps gonna be severely underpowering them...its not a big deal just output wont be where it should. The problem that could arise from that is if he cranks the gain up to make em louder and clips the shit outta em. There's no need to run even one of those subs off of that turd of an amp. Just hang on to the XXXs until he can buy a real amp. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
