Lbox88
I used to have a malibu like that. Resonant freq of the car is ~41ish hz unless you do a wall. A Group 34 will fit in the stock battery try up front, but it is a little tight. Check out lem43606, he has the oldsmobile version of this car with a 2 18 4th order. Yeah I found that out when I got it termed. I managed a 132.2 @ 41hz on music. When this redtop goes bad I will look into getting a descent battery. I have been looking into getting a Tenney Alt at 250amp idle. I won a pair of MTX 6.5'' mids that I am wanting to install soon. Just not sure where to put them. 2004 Malibu Classic http://www.stevemead...aq-25-jeep0312/ Kenwood 352U HU (2) Incriminator Audio Death Row 12'' Soundstream Tarantula 1300W MTX 6.5'' mids & Infinity 4x6's in front doors Building as money comes in... beauty panels and amp rack 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Traded for a 2004 Malibu 2wd-4wd conversion 4in. lift 32'' Tires 2 Alpine 6.5 in front 2 Sony 6.5 craploads in rear Build: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 1999 Suzuki Sv650(Work in Progress)
jeep0312
I also got some nice 4x6's in the stock location after mine decided to take a dump. My brother was helping install them. He did the passenger side as I did the driver side. 2004 Malibu Classic http://www.stevemead...aq-25-jeep0312/ Kenwood 352U HU (2) Incriminator Audio Death Row 12'' Soundstream Tarantula 1300W MTX 6.5'' mids & Infinity 4x6's in front doors Building as money comes in... beauty panels and amp rack 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Traded for a 2004 Malibu 2wd-4wd conversion 4in. lift 32'' Tires 2 Alpine 6.5 in front 2 Sony 6.5 craploads in rear Build: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 1999 Suzuki Sv650(Work in Progress)
Basshead89
Yeah I want the sub and port to fire in the cabin sealed from the trunk. I just think it will look bad ass looking back that way. I would also like to custom build 2 bucket seats in the back but that is in the far future... Fire it back into the trunk... both the sub and port... it WILL be louder.. I had a Malibu for 10 years that was way louder than anyone with the same setup in different cars. Kevin M
Are you happy with the 137 or are you looking for more output? Just curious. 2005 Ford Focus zx4 AMT's and Planars 18" Infinite baffle
jeep0312
I don't really know. Numbers don't mean anything to me right now so I guess so. I will have to see after I get my mids and highs sorted out. 2004 Malibu Classic http://www.stevemead...aq-25-jeep0312/ Kenwood 352U HU (2) Incriminator Audio Death Row 12'' Soundstream Tarantula 1300W MTX 6.5'' mids & Infinity 4x6's in front doors Building as money comes in... beauty panels and amp rack 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Traded for a 2004 Malibu 2wd-4wd conversion 4in. lift 32'' Tires 2 Alpine 6.5 in front 2 Sony 6.5 craploads in rear Build: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 1999 Suzuki Sv650(Work in Progress)
Basshead89
im not going for db's i want sound Quality and no rattles. it can be done.... LOTS of deadening (and don't forget the bodywork... i.e... bumper covers and supports). The cabin gain i measured with term-lab was roughly 8db on the dash. If you want better SQ, go with something else other than the 4x6's in the front door. With a little trimming you can get 6.5's up in there. With fiberglass... there is no limit!
