reg93f150 Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 currently i have 2 kicker cvx12's that would be powered by a concept cd-2410 amp.. ive been thinkin and thinkin.. since my stock alternator in my truck is only like a 70 amp or so, im gonna have to get an aftermarket alternator anyways.. gonna have to get a real battery anyways.. so what ive come down to is, fuck it im gonna sell everything i have and start all over.. its come down to it, and im almost 100% certain what im gonna do now.. 2 DC XL 12's powered by 2 DC 2.0k's yeah yeah yeah, i know some will say i wont have enough room in a single cab to let these monsters breathe and what not.. but the website recomends a 1.5^3 box for each sub ported, not including the port.. so its actually a rougly 1.8 cubic feet box including the sub displacement and what not, i know i will have about 5.7^3 of box i can work with so i will have enough room.. just asking, how do yall think it will sound? it will be behind a bench seat, not a blow through (crazy i know haha) but wondering if it will sound loud or not worth it? i couldent really find any videos on youtube or anything.. been thinkin go big or go home, stop messing around and just do it already so i dont have to keep upgrading and upgrading thanks any input will be accepted and thought about, positive or negative. ALL CREDIT TO XX1 FOR DC BANNER down rpping vanderbilt. 30 miles from victoria. i own the 3rd loudest setup here out of 3. but i did put together all 3 setups strapping 2 amps together ? like bolting them next together? using bungy cables to hold them down? or wiring separate amps to each sub
jlmtx2002 Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 I myself would recommend you look into 4 level 3 dual2 10's, with either the 2 Dc 2.0k's or 1 Dc 3.5k. With the 3.5k however you will be running 875watts roughly to each sub vs 1k per sub with the 2 2.0k's. Dc recommends 1cube per 10. So you will have room to play around with tuning. I had a single cab for years and went through setups every couple of month (all being 2 12's or single 15.) UNTIL i went with 4 10's on around 2.5k tuned to around 32 htz. Cone area is king.
jlmtx2002 Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 D4's on the 2.0k's and D2's on 3.5k

reg93f150 Posted September 17, 2012 Author Report Posted September 17, 2012 look at my build you will enjoy haha exactly what you want http://www.stevemead...-updates-pg-10/ just got done lookin at all 11 pages and readin just about everything haha, but box looks good and truck also.. should i say im jealous of your setup right now haha, but everything looks badass as hell, i cant wait for you to get the 3.5K in and playing and tell me how it sounds man.. and i appreciate you linking me to it.. and i know 1 10 or 2 8's can get loud too, but i dont want to put excessive power to them or in some awkward box, but its gonna be a daily pounder and i wont really wanna run the amp or the subs below 1 ohm just incase something happens to the subs or amp, it automatically void's the warranty on the subs and what not ALL CREDIT TO XX1 FOR DC BANNER down rpping vanderbilt. 30 miles from victoria. i own the 3rd loudest setup here out of 3. but i did put together all 3 setups strapping 2 amps together ? like bolting them next together? using bungy cables to hold them down? or wiring separate amps to each sub
