rockFord_Expedition Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Are you running a dual 2 ohm sub? Why don't you run it at 4 ohms instead if it can only handle 150rms? I'm just assuming though. What needs 150 rms @ 1 ohm? Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
Trey_Dog650 Posted September 19, 2012 Author Report Posted September 19, 2012 It's a svc 1 ohm sub lol 13 Kia Forte Build! 07 Hyundai Accent Build ***Super Seller*** N8ball2013 And then he gets to say ok all you guys were right. im sorry for being a dummy poo poo head.

WastedTalent Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Here comes the noob out of the closet for the day. Why not... set your... I'm thinking gains, but could be another word as I'm still tired and just wanna sleep, so it's only getting 150? I realize, don't go buy an amp that can do 500 rms and only let it do 150, but if you do have an amp, set it down low. Make it only give 150. Again, noob. Take my advice for what it's worth, not even 2 cents. Lol. I know just because the amp does 1500 rms doesn't mean you have to make it do 1500 rms. Sheena = pedobear
mrd6 Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 ^probably going to have to do something like that. Generally, class d amps are the ones that are 1 ohm stable but they are used when alot of power is desired because they are more efficient than class a/b. Then most class a/b amps will have the power rating you are looking for but in general are not 1 ohm stable, and the ones that are are $$$. Kinda a catch 22 lol. What sub is it? Edit: just found this... http://www.crutchfie...1.html?tp=35834 and this, more power than you need but still inexpensive http://www.crutchfield.com/p_206DX5001/Kicker-10DX500-1.html?tp=35834 My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
Trey_Dog650 Posted September 19, 2012 Author Report Posted September 19, 2012 I like that first one. I could do what wasted said and that makes sense. But I still don't wanna buy too big of an amp cuz I wouldn't know how far to turn it down I like that first kicker amp tho! Looks like it would workout great for my situation. 13 Kia Forte Build! 07 Hyundai Accent Build ***Super Seller*** N8ball2013 And then he gets to say ok all you guys were right. im sorry for being a dummy poo poo head.
