Pioneerchuck
I was thinking about swapping out the 4.2 in my 99 F150 with the 5.4 from a donor truck and was wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this before? If so, is it a hard swap and what am I looking at in compatability?
79Bronco
Different bellhousing on the tranny. Not worth it IMO. IIRC, the 4.2 V6 has the same bellhousing as the 5.0 the 4.6 and 5.4 are the same. Pioneerchuck
Oh lol forgot to mention the tranny is also included in the swap. Sorry for that. But thanks for the info.
boom50cal
You'll need the PCM and whatnot, and lots of time. I have a buddy that swapped a 5.4 Lightning motor in his 98 single cam 4.6 GT Mustang and it was a huge hassle... Swap a 5.0 in it, lots easier and cheaper.
