And if i found one with the same pulley type as mine, could i fab a mount and splice into my existing plug an use an alt of a different vehicle? Also, the OD (outside diameter) of the pulley will greatly affect the RPM or spin of the alt, hence, fucking with your turn on speed at a given motor RPM........ make sence? Guest Posted September 30, 2012 Report Posted September 30, 2012 i dont think that could happen. different cars have different plugs with different amount of wires in said plug. some alts have one wire, some have four or five, depending on the car make/model.

If you dont care about your idiot lights going off all day on your dash..... some dont,.... i myself will NOT run that way... unless its a audio vehicle only.... which, i dont have,... hell ,.. even then....... i wont do that... again, you need mounts to be correct, and the correct pully. Belt length and width, and diameter....... can it be done?? well yeah.... or, call one of the HO alt makers here, and toss it on...... yes fun lil project, but, id rather put my effort, time, and money into another phase of the build... just me..
