Checking myself (strapping amps)

I just want to make sure im correct here before i toast an amp or woofer. I have two subs. They are D1 coils. I want to run them strapped to two amps. If i run each woofer at a 2 ohm load at the amp, and then strap the amps. Each amp will see a 1ohm load before rise. Correct?

In case that is confusing: two subs, two amps. D1 coils. Final ohm on each amp?

Any help would be great. Thanks!!!

I'm confused there. If each amp is at 2ohm individually when they become paired it drops the ohm load below half of the current impedance?

each sub would be wired to 2 ohm so 1 ohm at the amp, when you strap the amps they would split the final ohm load so each would see .5

Pretty sure I got that right

makes complete sense. I had been arguing with myself about this. I've not strapped amps before. I think ill just be running each amp at 2ohm. Not sure the electrical is strong enough to support each amp at .5 thanks!

If you can, dont strap the amps, in my experiance ive had more issues when strapped.. And unstrapping is louder ( in my application) then strapped

I think i'll just run each amp at 2ohm. cleaner power. The electrical is not super strong in this car so it would probably be better that way. this is for my fiance's civic. I'm working on a build log

me two with good quality amps too and a few brands. unstrapped them and gain matched and "seemed" like i got more power and had less issues.
