BassHead810
Finally getting a build log going, I had 3 goals in mind when I started this build:1) 150+ db outlaw2) 145+ db at 20hz or below (outlaw)3) 150dB at the windshield legalI have a termlab and hope to share my results along the way. I've been working on this build for 5-6 months now and have done alot of testing with the TL. Sub Bass is my main focus right now because I want to compete with this vehicle. I do plan on upgrading the stock mids and highs at some point but for now I'm putting my time and money into SPL.I'm starting with JL simply because thats what I had in my old F150 and I want to see what they can do from a trunk. 150 db seems a bit unrealistic from "SQ" subs but I will see how loud I can get them and if I hit a plateau before 150 I will get subs more suited for SPL.Here's some pics of my new ride. Not the biggest trunk but it will do. BassHead810
I had one 12W7 sittin around from my old vehicle and a 1000/1 so I started with that. Planning on getting a 2nd one used from my cousin and eventually running 2 JL1000/1's. I will see how loud I can get with them before buying new subs of a different brand. BassHead810
Double the pleasure double the fun, time to get louder I built it as 2 separate boxes because I didnt think I could get one big one in the car. Starting out with them rearfiring but eventually plan to seal them off facing the front My 150+ Trunk Build Log Current Setup2 DC XL15's Crossfire XS-8K AudioControl Epic-150Mechman 250 amp altXS D3100 under hood 2 XS D3100 in TrunkSecondSkin Sound Deadening - 120+ sq ft Damplifier Pro2012 North American Street Stock Runner-up - 150.9 on 1800 clamped watts 2013 dB Drag Street Trunk World Champion - 153.9 on 3200 clamped Watts 2013 MECA Trunk 1 World Champion - 152.8 Headrest 2013 MECA Park & Pound 2 World Champion - 130.6My youtube channel (click for Hairtricks) Team dbAddicts Team DC Audio dcsoundlab.com

Nao
Aren't W7's SQ subs, and i recommend facing them forward and sealing it off from the cabin better numbers that way, Also there plenty loud if done correctly i had 2 w6's in a custom ported box @ 31 hz on power acoustik BAMF 5500 watt amp and a audio control epicenter and it killed the lows and flexed everything even somehow pushed out one side of my back windshield. also did 144.2 on TL sealed. BassHead810
So I tested alot of different box positions and tunings and there was always a huge drop in SPL in the 40 to 50hz range as you can see on the graph. Something about the vehicle did not like those frequencies, which quite frankly sucked! BUT the other thing I noticed was that it seemed like there was a peak below 20 hz that I was missing, I was curios so I got a cd with tones below 20 to see what would happen. After a few modifications to my box and bit of testing on the termlab I was doing this... Yeah they are SQ subs but basically my goal was to see how loud I could get them since I already had one and could get another one very cheap. Everyone always says JL's cant get loud but I kinda felt like they had it in them so I thought I'd give it a shot. I did face them forward, getting there, stay tuned.
