I competed In dB Drag Street Stock which is power limited at 2000 watts. I have only one battery, a D3100 under the hood and I took 2nd in my class with a score of 150.9 dB. Thanks XS Power

I have thought about doing this too but i'm not sure it would even help. It might even hurt your spl. I'm in a trunk car also and the back seat is always down. The carpet on my seat has a zipper at the sides though and Velcro at the bottom. I took the carpet off just to see what it would do with the metal frame exposed and i lost a solid .2 db from that change so i put it back. I did notice though at the Carlisle PA show terry brocks had dynamat on the back of his seats so it might help a little

Thats not a bad number for your first time on the meter. You could probably gain more by spending some time on the meter and find what helps and what hurts like seat position box positions etc
