Best SQ for my car?

Daniel Guy

Recommended Posts

I've got a '96 Mercury Sable, and I want to back off of the intense, crap-sounding, bass, and move into nice clean bass.

What are some recommendations for SQ subs?

I'm looking at running one 12", or 2 10". Haven't decided that yet.

Also, don't say JL. I like them, but that pricetag! Little too high for me.. haha.

Nyehh I'm lazy.

All I'm running now is two Kicker Comp 10's, and they sound like crap.

well then good luck with all the pros that will "help" you ......

Im done.

Never said no man.

I'm more than willing to accept help/suggestions, or anything else.

sorry for the misinterpretation...

sounded like you didnt wanna try just wanted someone to tell you what to do.

but pick some subs that are in your price/power range and do the shit man

It's all good man, no worries.

I'm mainly looking for suggestions on subs that would be better for SQ than others. Like, JL > Kicker.

I'll be making a box soon too, and I have absolutely 0% of an idea on how to go about getting specs.

well thats the start of a vs thread...

man seriously dont let other ppl spend your money do some research and like I said before and always do test try tune....

manufacturers specs are available on their websites 99% of the time if its a reputable company

everyone has their favorite anyway so thats why we dont do vs threads

SQ is lots of tuning. Equipment helps, but so much of it is tuning. And getting rid of rattles and resonances. A signal processor can help smooth out the peakyness
