atlhawks Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 hi all im wanting to do my first setup in a 2009 chevy silverado regular cab. ive got about 600 to spend on cd player, subs and amp. ive been looking at getting the rockford fosgate r 1200.1d for the amp. ive found it for around 250 so that would leave 350 to get a cd player and subs. i want to be able to have the sound get loud and still have a pretty good sound and punch to them. any help would be great
ToNasty Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 Your.gonna have to put out a bit.more than.that. dont forget wiring. That alone will be around 100 bucks ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
atlhawks Posted October 19, 2012 Author Report Posted October 19, 2012 ok thanks. well ill put another 100 in it to get the right wires but with 350 to work with and get a cheaper cd player what subs would work well for me
mttornquist Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 deff look for used. go to the for sale section and you can find some amazing deals on great gear!! My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...lmost-complete/
atlhawks Posted October 19, 2012 Author Report Posted October 19, 2012 ok good deal. idk how to maximize my space ive been thinking either 1 12 ported 2 10s ported or 3 10s sealed because i heard since you cant have much depth in my truck for the better subs its good to have more cone area so it gets louder
CleanSierra Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 You can get more depth in your bodystyle than mine, from what I've seen and looked at. You can easily have 2 10s ported. I've run 2 12s sealed and they weren't loud or low enough. Two 10s with aero ports firing into the B-pillar will be one of your louder options. I'd pull the trim panel off and get some sound deadener for the pillar though since you'll be putting a lot of air and pressure on it. Get a tape measure and see what room you have to work with. Top depth, bottom depth, width across cab and height below window or trim panel. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 Stay away from 3 10s sealed, you'll get more and better output from 2 10s ported. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
atlhawks Posted October 20, 2012 Author Report Posted October 20, 2012 thanks for the help , sound good. what would be 2 good 10's to port with the amp i mentioned?
CleanSierra Posted October 20, 2012 Report Posted October 20, 2012 Well your budget, in my opinion, is unrealistic. You need to think about wiring harness, mounting kit for the head unit, wiring(RCAs included), AND materials for building a box(around 50-60 depending on your area). I think a good beginner setup would be something's like the E series by Sundown, or IVX from Skar for you. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra Posted October 20, 2012 Report Posted October 20, 2012 For a Head Unit, if go with a Kenwood eXcelon X395, they're great for the money. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
