Lets say i dont think im capable of doing that bypass correctly... and i can see my voltage from my volt meter. Would it be possible just to leave my AC on or something like that? The ELD (from my understanding) turns off the alternator when its not needed aka not a lot of things drawing power. But since your audio system is independent then the ELD doesnt sense this. So what if i just induced a load that the ELD could detect aka lights/ac so it doesnt turn my alternator off while im bumpin.... I know someone will say this is the lazy way, why not just do the bypass. And id like to. But i am conservative on what i allow my self to attempt (or screw up) and if im not 100% sure, especially with something as valuable as my first and only car that ive put almost all my money into. Then im not gonna attempt it. Please help. CaPRiCEx383 Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Yeah that would work. When I'm at comps, demos and such I just leave the lights on so I can charge at 14.4. During normal days I just let it be and top off my batteries every week or so on the charger.
