Swordlordboy1234 Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 So i installed my polks and my t600-4 and it was really noobish at first. I guess i rushed it to hear it, and over the last 2 months as im waiting on sub money... ive been making it an actual acceptable install and not whatever that bullcrap i did first was. 1) ran the wires from the doors outside of the door boot because honda has a clip that you cant run wires past 2) ran wires behind my driver seat from my center console because my wires were too short to run all along the side of the car, i had to go down the middle to have my amp in the trunk. 3) had the door wires and crossovers just kinda flopping around in there 4) had no organization to the wires run down the console or in the trunk going to the un mounted amp SO NEEDLESS TO SAY. ive cleaned up everything except the first one. Everything is secure, mounted, run under carpet, ziptied together in clean bundles, and hidden......... But to solve the first one, where door clip - rubber boot- hole for door wires I cant figure out how to run my wire through that clip. As i said before right now its run outside the rubber boot which is a huge no no... but its not being squeezed by anything at the moment. Id like to get in inside the boot. Problem is, i guess id have to drill out a hole in the clip to be able to run it through the boot. ANY honda guys have any suggestions on how to run it through that door clip? Which wires can i take out of the clip since im not using the stock wires? Should i drill a hole in the actual door metal to make a spot for my wire? Once i can get it to pass through the door from the components in the door i can run it through the boot. But as of right now there is no way to exit out the side of the door. HatersGonnaHate Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Luckily mine did not have that clip, so it's just run through the boot from the dash to the door. What some people have done, is take that clip out and drill bigger holes to allow more wires to be slid through. Swordlordboy1234 Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 Pics? I'm guessing you could just tap into the stock speaker wire connector? The stock speaker wire is like 20G or something like that. And with 125 rms from my amp i sure as hell didnt wanna use the stock ones. So i ran my audio technix through it. Ill take some pics soon if i get more requests. Honda guys should know EXACTLY what im talking about. But i can see why pics would help. Let me see if any honda guys chime in before i spend an hour in the florida mid day sun taking pics of the last embarrassing part of my install. On another note, the REST that ive cleaned up is almost build log worthy with it being clean now =] My old YouTube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/SwordLords1234?feature=mhee My old build log : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161872-96-accord-b2-sundown-sky-high-dc-power-re-re-build-for-heatwave/page-37 My New Build - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/207041-2016-mazda-6-sql-build/ 2016 Mazda 6 Touring JL Fix 86 - OEM signal correction B2 prototype DSP 6to8 B2 Ref63 - 3 way active set 2 B2 Class H quattro's 1 B2 Zero.5R @.5 2 B2 HNv3 12 d2 B2 SLIP40 - Lithium in the trunk Northstar Group 35 under the hood 100ft 2/0 welding cable 30ft 4ga welding cable 20ft 8ga welding cable All stinger OFC speaker wire Soundrive custom RCA's Tons of attention to detail.... Do you know anyone that has taken out wires off the clips to run the speaker wires through? Or anyone who has actually drilled a hole in their door next to that clip? HatersGonnaHate Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 I know of people that have done it, but I don't have any pics of it. In all the build logs that I've seen around here, I've seen them done that way as well.
