TheGoat
Whats a good reserve capacity to have for 4100watts? i was thinking of having a bank of both d and xp batteries to try and save some weight for my daily driver.
zack_e89
What alt do you have? Quote 97 Suburban 8 custom PSI Platform 3 18's
SnowDrifter
Depends on your alt. I have a 270 amp alt and I only have 80 ah of batteries for about that much power Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
TheGoat
I have a mechman 270 amp alt and a D3400 under the hood. I'm highballing the 4100 it could be more like 3600 but idk what the sundown SAZ 2500 puts out at 15 volts. So 4100 is the number I'm using. Snow drifter what are your voltages kind of drop are you seeing
mrd6
You should be fine with what you have already assuming your wiring is up to par and you dont push your amp into clipping or run less than 1ohm Quote My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
SnowDrifter
Down to like 12.6 at idle, but I maintain 14.5v above 1200 rpm. I'm running a crescendo 3500 at .5. So I'd think you should be fine as is. You could put a smaller battery in the back near the amp if you want, but I don't think you need anything huge Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
TheGoat
I'm running the sub at 2 ohm. I was going to get 2 if not 3 more batteries for the trunk but if you think 1 more will do ill try that and if I need more then so be it
Nathan @ XSpower
You should be pretty good the way you are. If you want to add a little more capacity you could go with an XP950 in the back.
mrd6
So you are running an saz2500 at 2 ohm nominal with a 270 amp alt and 3400 under the hood? I can guarantee you, that will be plenty of electrical then. If nothing is done incorrectly and your wiring is good, you should have zero voltage drop or close to it.
