95Burbancalldsnow Posted November 14, 2012 Report Share Posted November 14, 2012 ok so on my old excelon deck i could get 28 out of 35 clean power on the pre-out for sub with the sub setting cranked to +15 my questsion is can i expect the same or better performance from the x996 as my 6 or 7 year old excelon (ive heard mine isnt supposed to clip either but the dd-1 says it does) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
One Way Posted November 14, 2012 Report Share Posted November 14, 2012 I think you did it backwards, you have to set the maximum unclipped volume with everything flat and sub level on zero. Then after that you find the maximum unclipped sub level on the deck, not the other way around. My deck is clip free 35/35 I have my sub level on 11+ because anything after that it starts clipping.
