wellington
Long story short, I moved a perfectly working sub and amp and box into a new car. The new car does not play all frequencies like the old car. It just causes this humming sound and it even fried one of my subs (remember everything was the same, the only change was the car) I talked to one local car audio shop and they were clueless. Didn't even bother to try to listen to what I was describing and just said "fuck if I know, hur dur"... Someone on ROE said the panels might be resonating. I have done most of the hatch and spare tire area with peel and seal and there is no difference. I am thinking it MIGHT be the roof. I am a bit skeptical to use peel and seal on the roof and figured I might try some stuff GUARANTEED not to fall off... Any help is appreciated. I really don't want to have to drop subs altogether or get a new car.... Anyone local in the east bay that can help in person would be cool too. 2010 HHR LT - DNX 6160 - sony xec-700 - sony xm-4040 for door mids - XM-6020 for tweets in a-pillar - saz1500d v1 - VVME RD-12 1.75 f^3 32hz guru and president of the "cheap asses trying to beat up the block with bargain bin woofers" club
n8ball2013
a humming noise is not going to be caused by panels resonating. based on the info you have given that would be the last thing Id even think of. RCAs head unit amp ground or the amp itself are causing it. Not really an alternator whine or buzzing sound. it's only from certain bass frequencies. its def the car i can tell you that 2010 HHR LT - DNX 6160 - sony xec-700 - sony xm-4040 for door mids - XM-6020 for tweets in a-pillar - saz1500d v1 - VVME RD-12 1.75 f^3 32hz guru and president of the "cheap asses trying to beat up the block with bargain bin woofers" club
