E-40 & Too Short - History: Function Music

All in all, not feeling a single track. The beats are the basically the same sound he's been using since Day Shift/Night shift and its just boring now. Short is past his prime and E-40 is getting there, legends of the game but need to hang it up. Hopefully Mob Music will have a few slaps at least.

Mob Music leaked finally, and its fuckin DOPE! Beats are a hell of a lot better, still clipping of kicks and some higher bass notes but nothing distorted or bad like the one above.

i like it so far. Most of them sound good to me and i mostly disagree on the negative statements above. A couple of them suck but thats what happens when there is 30 songs on an album. Can't love them all.

The whole Function music sound I'm just not feeling, the Mob music to me was a lot better classic 90's sound but updated

When i said "i like it so far" i haven't had a chance to fully run through it. Now i don't HATE it, but damn, i wish there was more songs like "poncherallo's"........that one is off the chain

some of the songs, i don't see how anyone could listen to them because they are not good at all......but a few are ok. Over all, not enough of them are good enough for a 2 album set IMO. I found myself hitting "next, next, next, next" while driving down the street yesterday.

Quality>Quantity. I don't give a shit about 30 songs if only 5 make the cut. I still love 40 and short though...and that isn't gonna change.

Completely agreed, he is just pushing so much music is just sounding the same and a lot of the time just lacking being a good song. According to his Wiki he is dropping Welcome to the Soil 4, 5 & 6 on March 26, 2013. I'm taking a guess its gonna be like 1-3 where I pick and choose the ones I like to make 1 good CD and that's a shame
