Then you could get mixers and turntables as a full controllers and the monitors for fairly cheap just need to look around. So i would say if you got 2000 your set. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at. If you're doing house parties and such, a small rig works fine, if you plan on a bit more professional look and quality, you'll have to spend more. A good controller will range anywhere from $500+. You can get a simple speaker on a stick rig with powered mixer for a couple hundred used, and it will get you by. The more you can spend, the better you can get. I'd say $1000 for a good controller that will last a while, $2000 for audio, and $2000 for a good lighting rig for something decent and upgradable. POTATO!
