purplehaiz Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 I run an ma audio hk4000d for 2 dc level 4 XL 15s. It's at 2 ohms. Everything is run with 0 guage. I have the big 3 with 2 guage. Yet if its cold out my amp wants to cut out when I have high volume and or gain. And when I turn my head lights the whole way on you can here the amp turn off and on real quick. I have my main battery and 3 extra deca intimidators in the back. I don't know what else to upgrade to solve this. I also have a mechman 250a ho alt. any suggestions?
army_guy137 Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 Hmm, based on everything your saying that you installed, it should run just fine. Have you bench tested the amp? There is a chance it's not in your wiring and in the amp itself.

mrd6 Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 Does the headlight thing happen everytime or just sometimes? My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
purplehaiz Posted November 20, 2012 Author Report Posted November 20, 2012 It happens more and more when the temp drops. Or if you have it very loud and hit the lights it shuts off til I turn it back down then I can turn it up again just not as much. It's fine with just my parking lights

C-Fizzy Posted November 21, 2012 Report Posted November 21, 2012 Let's see, How was your gain set. Where is your ground for your amp? Batts? Voltage drop? Those are current hungry bastards. under construction I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me. u hate c-fizzy?
purplehaiz Posted November 21, 2012 Author Report Posted November 21, 2012 Gain is set 3 up from min. I have ground and power to first back battery. That first battery runs to the other two back ones and then to the front. The front battery is the only one grounded. At idle the lowest drop I've seen is to 11.8 at full tilt. When driving the lowest is maybe 12.2. But with the lights on my voltage drops about .1 below average. I don't get it. It bumps fine when the amp warms up and lights are off.
