Before i had my dd-1 and tuned with the tpi-440 oscope i was clipping pretty hard and my ears hurt like hell, this is the stupidest thing i have heard since the inception of the DD-1. go home! It isnt wanted nor needed here. you may be misunderstanding my quote. i have no issue with the DD-1. i'm saying that if he was clipping before on his scope he was doing something wrong. so i feel that me telling him to go home isn't completely out of line. just my quote needs to be read as a supporter of both the DD-1 and oscopes and not ignorance. sorry if i offended you. Even though our 140+db low notes may not be as harmful for our ears as higher notes, A lot of us run multiple mid-range and tweeters and can easily cross the threshold of hearing damage in the frequencies that do cause hearing damage. Yeah, distortion probably accelerates hearing damage, but even clean sound at high levels and high frequencies can cause hearing loss. Just be careful guys, all things in moderation.
