2004 Jetta Mk4 | Fi 15bl | Built Inside Out

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, This is my first worklog to post up here and really my first big box build. With some help from my friend Mooney (i'm sure he's around here somewhere) we built a 7cuft box for my jetta.

I'm not gonna lie, building a box from the inside out is a damn bitch. Here's the pictures that i've got so far.

I'll post some more up as soon as I can find my camera's usb cable. =]

Enjoy!

Here's the 15bl lookin all pretty.

did you ever consider firing the subs into the cab and not at the trunk latch

Yea, it was something that I really went back and fourth with, But ultimately I decided to have the port firing towards the trunk. I have taken off the rear deck and it allows unrestricted airflow. Something me and mooney are going to eventually fiberglass the trunk to where it has a ramp type surface that will smooth out the airflow from the port to the rear deck. In theory I think It would improve airflow slightly, not sure if i'd see any real world differences.

Thanks for the input guys, I think i'll face it forward when i get my other 15 and have to build another box. With any luck i'll be able to have 2 15's by the end of february. Though i'm thinking of pzin the fi and getting some DC insead, but we'll see how it goes =]

if you havent already attached the baffle why not just flip it around? makes sense to me, that way you wont have to build another box ;)
