RooTxBeeR Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Well I am sure the battery that is in my car, isn't the original stock battery, but it is still a normal car battery, and I have beaten the piss out of it since I got this car. Got up this morning to get into my car, and I turn the key to see nothing happen and my voltage meter so say Lo. WHich means its under 9V. Thankfully a friend was stopping by at a neihbors right then and gave me a jump, I let my car run while I ran to my neihbors house to see what he was doing. I got back into my car and turned it off really quick to see how the voltage looked, it dropped to 10v in a matter of a second, and now, won't turn back on. When I jumped the car, I checked all the electrical spots I got under the hood for any loose parts to my Big3. As well when I got into my car, made sure there where no lights/radio where on. Which none where. I am going to guess that since yesterday was warm out, and I did quit a bit of driving, and got hit with a insane coldness over night, my battery might have perished. Anyone got any info for me? Put the batt on the charger overnight, and see what happen´s. If she loose quick again or do nothing she´s dead. "in the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty" Bob Marley
Guest Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 early signs show that its dead. but yeah throw it on a charger overnight like ^ said and see what the float voltage is after resting for an hour or so.
Miguels Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 stop jump starting your car and running it like that or the next thing getting fried will be the alternator my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

I will try that, my dad is going to go to napa and pick me up a new one anyways because if this one is dead, I will need my car within the next few days. I will take this batt to his house, and thrown on the trickle charge over night and see what happens, if it helps I will just have an extra battery in the back On 11/20/2012 at 8:54 PM, AMI CUSTOMS said: Turned mine up today at a light, guy next to me his steering wheel started moving and he looked over at me like I was a magician lol. RooTxBeeR Posted November 23, 2012 Author Report Posted November 23, 2012 stop jump starting your car and running it like that or the next thing getting fried will be the alternator I only jump it when needed, and beat the piss out of it when I didn't know what I was doing. The past year I have treated it well and with consern. I never go under 12.5 while bumping. This battery is probably almost 10 years old, and I live in chicago where it can go hot to cold in a matter of hours, so the combination of everything has had its effects on my battery.
