SlamminBeats Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Quick question: So i want to make an interchangeable port. I'm going to keep the port length the same, so all i'm doing is adding a rectangle which will make my current port smaller, thus yielding a lower tuning. I've never made one of these before and wanted to know if this is ok? All the interchangeable i have seen always have that port length insert. I don't want that, is that ok? Also, im just going to use T nuts and bolts to hold it in place. Is that the correct way to go about this? Let me know if i'm correct! Thanks
tacomaguy1 Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Sounds good, should work fine Team Flex Issues
SlamminBeats Posted November 23, 2012 Author Report Posted November 23, 2012 Sounds good, should work fine thank god, seems so easy, wonder why i've never done this before.
REVOofRustler Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Check out Snowdrifter's build with his Subie. He just bolted pieces of wood to the inside of his port to make the port area smaller. SlamminBeats Posted November 24, 2012 Author Report Posted November 24, 2012 nice idea there, only thing is my box isnt easy to access on the top like that, i may consider this thou, good find!
Noobtastic14 Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 I've tried it a few times and it just never works as good in practice as it does on paper. Sure you may be tuned lower, but the drastic loss in port area doesn't yield the gains you'd expect. If anything, I would make the port longer outside the box to keep the same volume and port area but lowering tuning. -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. Noobtastic14 Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 yeah- a normal inside port with an external extension to drop tuning I guess. That way the volume and port area remain constant. -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. Sand it off, Paint it on. uhoh_45 said: dont be a pussy P give the jeep to drew

Noobtastic14 Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 Sorry man I don't use Torres I don't know what to tell ya. -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. Sand it off, Paint it on. uhoh_45 said: dont be a pussy P give the jeep to drew
