the_garynator Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 another option (if you have the space) would be to use some woofers. In order to balance things out a bit in my system (18" DC Audio Lvl 5, 1" earthquake screamer tweeters, 6x9's in the doors), I added 8x 8" home audio woofers in sealed boxes (4 per box) on a seperate 2 channel amp. They hit pretty hard. you may have to run a low pass filter on them to cut out some of the mids, when you start throwing power at them they tend to pull the sound stage rearward. These were just cheap 8s and don't quite keep up with the Level 5, but I plan on replacing them with 4 10" dayton audio woofers from partsexpress.com. Current Build: Project Flexington: 157.6db @ 37hz Parallel 6th order walk through, DC Neo Elite 18s, 4 DC 5.0ks, JY Lithium, 12 banks of XS Caps Old Builds:150db and HAIRTRICKs from 2x 12" Power Acoustik Mofos (6th order blow through) ;<p>Roadmaster Wagon Build - DC LVL 6 M3, Kicker Warhorse ; Godzilla swapped 240sx ; 6th Order Bandpass Alpine Type R 12 ; Fully loaded DC Level 5 18" 240sx
